Danielle and Erik’s Whimsical Engagement Session at The Book Trader
Danielle and Erik’s engagement session was nothing short of magical. They chose The Book Trader, an eclectic bookstore in Old City, Philadelphia, as their backdrop. For Danielle, a self-proclaimed book lover, it couldn’t have been more perfect. Every corner of the shop overflowed with character, from the towering shelves to the hidden nooks filled with vintage novels. They even have a room filled with vinyl records!
We started the session among the rows of books, capturing Danielle and Erik as they flipped through their favorite genres. The soft lighting and warm colors created a cozy, romantic vibe. Danielle’s love for books was evident in every frame, her excitement spilling over as she pointed out stories she loved. Erik matched her energy, laughing and leaning into the fun atmosphere.
The highlight of the day? Meeting the store’s resident celebrity, Dr. Pickles, a local cat with plenty of attitude. Dr. Pickles made an appearance during our session, adding a quirky charm to their photos. Watching Danielle and Erik interact with this bookstore icon felt like a scene straight out of a romantic comedy.
As a New Jersey wedding photographer, I’ve seen some incredible engagement locations, but this one stood out. The Book Trader offered a unique mix of whimsy and intimacy that perfectly reflected Danielle and Erik’s love story.
