Jillian and Jimmy | Adventure Aquarium Wedding
Some weddings are magical. Others are unforgettable. Jillian and Jimmy’s July wedding at the Adventure Aquarium was both—and then some. Their day was filled with family traditions, incredible moments, and some of the most unique photo opportunities you can imagine. If you’re looking for inspiration for Philadelphia wedding photos, this one has everything: history, city backdrops, and sharks!
Jillian began her morning at The Deacon, a boutique hotel in Philadelphia that was once a church. You can still see its historic features, from tall stained-glass windows to vaulted ceilings, but now it’s been transformed into a chic space for gatherings and overnight stays. It was the perfect mix of history and modern style. Jillian surrounded herself with her closest friends, family, and parents. Her details tied perfectly into the aquarium theme, from her starfish pearl shoes to the thoughtful décor touches. Her mom helped her get dressed, sharing sweet glances and hugs, while her dad got the honor of a heartfelt first look. She then revealed her gown to her bridesmaids, and their reactions were priceless—screams, cheers, and tears filled the room.
Jimmy, meanwhile, got ready at a hotel near the venue. Once dressed, he and his groomsmen hopped on a massive tour bus. The bus made its way into Philadelphia to scoop up Jillian, kicking off the day with plenty of energy and laughter.
Their first look took place outside The Deacon, in front of the old church doors. It was an emotional, joyful moment. Inside, a 26-person bridal party met them! There were hugs, toasts, and even a special entrance from their pup, Marbles. He stole the show as he bolted straight to Jillian.
Next, it was time for iconic city portraits. We stopped at Broad Street, with City Hall perfectly framed in the background. This location has become a must-have for Philadelphia wedding photos, and it’s easy to see why. From there, the group headed to the Merchants Exchange Building, one of the oldest and most recognizable landmarks in Philadelphia. Built in the 1830s, its curved facade and towering columns provide an elegant, historic backdrop. Together with Broad Street, it gave Jillian and Jimmy the perfect mix of urban and timeless portraits.
When the photos wrapped, everyone boarded the bus and made their way to the Adventure Aquarium. With the aquarium closed to the public, we had exclusive access to some of the most jaw-dropping spaces. The shark tunnel was a highlight—sharks and stingrays swam overhead while Jillian and Jimmy posed in the glow of the blue water. These images stand out as some of the most unique Philadelphia wedding photos you could ever dream of.
Their ceremony took place in front of the massive tank, where hammerhead sharks and sea turtles drifted by as guests watched from stadium-style seating. Filipino traditions made the ceremony deeply personal, blending culture with the incredible setting.
During cocktail hour, guests mingled, enjoyed amazing food, and even pet stingrays at the interactive pool. Afterwards, the reception kicked off with live music, Jillian and Jimmy’s first dance, and a hilarious toast from Jillian’s dad. With his witty lines and a little help from cue cards held by Jillian’s niece, the whole room roared with laughter.
From the first look at The Deacon, to Broad Street portraits, to a dance-filled night surrounded by sharks and marine life, Jillian and Jimmy’s day was unforgettable. Their wedding proves that Philly history and aquarium magic are a perfect match.
